PIGS
Very similar in the pig market this week, sows to 72p/kg or £208.44 from J D, B K & J M Fell, Great Hatfield.

Bacon Pigs to 173p/kg and £186.84, average 172.5p/kg.
Heavy Gilts to 90p/kg and £182.78, average 80.3p/kg.

Cull Sows to 72p/kg and £208.44, average 70.7p/kg.

SHEEP
A good trade for sheep again in Hull this week, especially store lambs, which really flew away, with a very good show of buyers round the pens and averaging all but £100 including a number below 30kg. Short keep lambs to £127 from Amanda Chapman-Fisher, New Ellerby and averaging in excess of £110 were particularly good to place today.

Heavies to 285p/kg and £138, average 277.3p/kg.
Over-Weights to 280p/kg and £155, average 271.1p/kg.
SQQ 283.6p/kg.

Cull Ewes to £120, average £80.10.

Store Lambs to £127, average £99.32.
Over 37.5kg to £127, average £110.18.
32.5-37.5kg to £110, average £102.00.

CATTLE
Nigh on 100 cattle in Hull this week, which is something we don’t see very often, most of the pens full to bursting in the store market, with something for everyone on offer. Despite the large show, cattle were a wonderful trade from start to finish, almost without exception! Market topped at £1,470 four times, twice for Limousin Steers from W J Cawthorne & Sons, Lockington and twice for British Blue Heifers from H W Colley & Son, Holme on the Wolds, purchased by Parkin Family Butchers, Howden.
