PIGS
Fewer pigs around this week, but sows a straight trade, topping at 74p/kg from Abbeygarth Pigs, Welwick.

Heavy Gilts to 96p/kg and £166.14, average 81.2p/kg.

Cull Sows to 74p/kg and £207.94, average 70.8p/kg.

SHEEP
Sheep trade continues to look bright in Hull for a market within the Bluetongue Restricted Zone, but capacity for Prime Lambs is somewhat limited, please speak to us if you have any to market. Store Lambs, however, continue to be in good demand, with about 200 forward today and anything properly bred being a very straight trade, topping at £110 for some good Suffolk lambs from J T & E A Midgley, Uncleby.

Heavies to 278p/kg and £136, average 260.8p/kg.
Over-Weight to 242p/kg and £150.

CATTLE
Another good cattle market in Hull this week, featuring a herd dispersal sale on behalf of C W, J & R Gwilliam, West Newton, which saw a packed ring and plenty of bidders, returning very healthy averages, with the majority of the cows being around 10 years old and averaging in excess of £950. Store Cattle wise plenty forward, including a good number from Messrs Gwilliam and a strong trade right through, topping at £1,220 for a pair of quality Limousin Steers from J T Binley, Fitling. Young Bulls a very strong trade, topping at £1,140 for a trio of Charolais from M D Reeves of Brocklesby, being 6-8 months of age.
